Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tong Van damm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maricue Russel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van damm comes into the arena with Life Goes On blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russel takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Van damm connects with an inside leg kick.
Russel closes the distance but Van damm moves to the side
and Van damm counters with a right hand to the body.
Van damm throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Russel moves out of range as Van damm strikes.
Van damm is looking to clinch.
Russel throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Van damm tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Russel is in Van damm's guard.

Russel moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
No luck for Russel with that takedown attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Van damm escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Russel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Russel postures up in Van damm's guard and throws a big left but Van damm blocks it.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Russel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
