Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tarik Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duey Doubleg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tarik Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Duey Doubleg!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Doubleg closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Doubleg is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Doubleg lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Doubleg has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Red Light MMA. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Duey Doubleg hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Doubleg shows good takedown defense.

Doubleg throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Johnson was covering up waiting for the punch and Doubleg finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tarik Johnson.
