Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ferdinand Cortes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vorg Zangief (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortes bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Zangief's head backwards.
Cortes jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Cortes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zangief manages to avoid it.
Cortes throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Cortes seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Cortes ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Zangief gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Cortes lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Zangief at a distance.
Cortes fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Zangief on the side of the head.
Ferdinand Cortes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cortes tests Zangief's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Cortes connects with a jab.
Cortes misses with a body shot.
Cortes scores with a jab to the head.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Zangief.
Cortes scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Zangief shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Cortes lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Zangief at a distance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Zangief's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Cortes connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Zangief scrambles back to his feet.
Zangief uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cortes.

Nice sprawl there from Cortes as Zangief shoots in.
Cortes scores with a nice head shot.
Zangief takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Cortes feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Zangief sprawling to the canvas! Zangief rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Cortes finish him?!

Ferdinand Cortes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vorg Zangief.

Cortes lands a big uppercut and Zangief crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Zangief looks OK. Cortes waves Zangief back to his feet!
Zangief is still on wobbly legs! Can Cortes finish him?
Zangief fails to land the takedown.
Zangief ducks right into an uppercut from Cortes.
Cortes throws an uppercut from hell that sends Zangief clean off his feet! He's out cold! Cortes stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
