PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alphons Draclau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Bronze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mr Bronze will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alphons Draclau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mr Bronze!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bronze lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Bronze feints and as Draclau raises his hands in defense, Bronze changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bronze sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Draclau's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bronze thows a huge punch but Draclau dodges it nicely.

Bronze winds up and cracks Draclau with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Bronze is taking a breather. Draclau says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Bronze is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Bronze is looking to take a break and control but Draclau is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Draclau might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bronze tries to pass the half guard into mount. Draclau knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Draclau tries to roll over but Bronze keeps him under control.
Bronze has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Draclau is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bronze's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bronze's back!
You can see the frustration on Bronze's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Draclau is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bronze is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Bronze connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Bronze has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Draclau is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Bronze lands a nice hook to Draclau's body. Draclau takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Draclau walks into a left hand.
A low kick from Bronze is predictable there
and Draclau connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bronze fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Bronze!

Bronze throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Draclau takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Bronze is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Draclau rather than just go for the knockout.
Good leg kick by Bronze there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Draclau takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Draclau throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mr Bronze showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mr Bronze comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Bronze has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Mr Bronze spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
