Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Madz Ladz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiruku Matah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matah has chosen Walker the Texas Ranger Theme as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hiruku Matah!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and David Schapiro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matah shoots in for a takedown but Ladz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Matah goes for a double leg but Ladz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ladz continues to drive forward.

Matah has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ladz is trying to keep an underhook but Matah manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Ladz is defending against the submission attempts here by Matah.

Matah is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ladz is just riding it out for now. Matah eventually gives up the hold.

Matah wants to free his trapped foot but Ladz is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Ladz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Matah is working away from the top position though.

Matah is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ladz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Matah.

Matah is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Matah is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Ladz has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Matah tries for a takedown but Ladz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Matah feints and then cracks Ladz's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Ladz down.
Ladz shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Matah as he avoids it easily.
Matah shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ladz sprawls well. Ladz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Matah gets slowly back to his feet.

Ladz seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Madz Ladz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hiruku Matah.

Matah looks for a takedown but Ladz sprawls well.
Matah dives in and grabs Ladz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ladz pushes down on Matah's head and hops out.
Ladz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Matah's waist but Matah gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ladz off to one side.
Matah fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ladz avoids it really well and circles away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Matah.

Matah closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ladz circles away.
Ladz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Matah sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ladz somewhat.

Ladz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Matah manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Ladz distracts Matah with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Matah lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ladz!

Matah is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ladz has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Ladz has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Ladz manages to reverse the position and now he's in Matah's guard. Nice work there by Ladz.

Matah working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ladz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Matah is tightening it up a little... Ladz has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Ladz reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Ladz taps out! Nice BJJ there by Matah!
