PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Timur Rubin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Artest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Artest comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Champion- Ron Artest Feat T-Pain kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Timur Rubin has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Timur Rubin seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Timur Rubin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ron Artest!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Artest is not content to let Rubin control the position.

Rubin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Artest with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rubin wants to take a breather but Artest is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A head punch on the inside from Artest fails to land.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rubin holds on and takes a little breather.
Rubin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rubin tries to get out of the position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Artest leaves Rubin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Artest throws a chopping leg kick but Rubin manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Rubin throws out a loose jab but Artest uses good head movement to avoid it.

Rubin seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Artest will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Rubin throws a body punch but Artest moves out of range.
Artest tries to clinch up but Rubin circles away and keeps his distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rubin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Artest tries to avoid it but Rubin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Artest to the ground. Artest escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Artest uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rubin.

Ron Artest showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Rubin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Artest fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Rubin checks it well.

Rubin is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Artest to keep the fight standing.

Artest tries to lock up and control but Rubin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Rubin postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Artest badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Rubin around the waist but Rubin pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Rubin is the winner by TKO! Rubin jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Timur Rubin!
