PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lance Invictus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Koko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Invictus kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Can't Be Touched. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lance Invictus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Koko!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koko lands a jab to Invictus's midsection.
The fight stays on the outside here - Invictus looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Koko throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Invictus throws a left and a right that both miss
and Koko counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Koko lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Koko.
Koko misses with a wild body shot.
Koko throws a series of strikes that have Invictus backpedaling.
Invictus wants to land a leg kick but Koko is out of range.
Lance Invictus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Invictus misses the shot to the body.
Koko connects with a body shot.
Koko punishes Invictus's body with a nice straight punch.
Koko misses with a wild body shot.
Koko is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Invictus throws a series of punches but Koko moves out of range.

Koko is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Invictus rather than just go for the knockout.

Invictus goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Koko throws out a leg kick but Invictus moves out of range and Koko only half commits.

Koko moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.


It looks like Lance Invictus has been cut.
Invictus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Invictus throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Invictus takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Koko paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Invictus misses with a wild combination.
Koko throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Invictus on the side of the head.
Invictus scores with a head kick. Koko tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Michael Koko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Invictus motions for Koko to come forward. Invictus throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Koko lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Invictus falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Koko to counter with a crisp jab.
Koko throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Invictus stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Koko throws a series of strikes that have Invictus backpedaling.

Invictus avoids a punch combination nicely.
Koko scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Invictus throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Invictus is looking to clinch.
Koko defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Invictus.

Koko lands a nice shot to the body.
Koko misses with a wild combination.
Koko thuds a left hand into Invictus's body.
Invictus tries to bum rush Koko with a series of wild strikes but Koko uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Invictus tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Koko is able to avoid easily.
Koko lands a jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Invictus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Koko is fending him off so far but Invictus persists. Nope, Koko circles away and we're back to standing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Invictus throws a sloppy head kick and Koko moves out of range easily.
Invictus tries to clinch
and Koko counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Invictus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Koko lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Invictus throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A punch combination from Koko misses.
Koko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Koko lands a nice shot to the body.
Koko scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Invictus checks a leg kick.
Invictus wants to clinch up but Koko keeps it at a distance.
Koko dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Invictus. That did some damage!
Koko misses with a low kick.
Koko connects with a good right hand that stumbles Invictus. Invictus circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Invictus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Koko moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No joy there for Invictus, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Koko lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Koko.


Invictus is rocked!
Koko ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Invictus out cold! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Michael Koko!
