Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chan-Sung Jung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Potkukelkka!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Jung.
Jung takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Potkukelkka misses the shot to the body.
An inside leg kick from Potkukelkka misses.
Jung misses with an uppercut. Potkukelkka saw that one coming.
Potkukelkka throws a lazy right hand but Jung sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Potkukelkka connects with a solid leg kick.
Potkukelkka moves out of range as Jung strikes.
Potkukelkka lands a nice hook to Jung's body. Jung takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Potkukelkka counters with a takedown into side control.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Jung gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Well, if Potkukelkka is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

enabling Jung to counter with a crisp jab.
Potkukelkka keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jung on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Jung lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Potkukelkka circles away quickly and effectively.
Potkukelkka throws a sloppy head kick and Jung moves out of range easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Potkukelkka throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Potkukelkka closes the distance and clinches up with Jung, looking for a takedown. Potkukelkka pushes Jung against the cage but Jung circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Potkukelkka shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Jung gets full guard.
Potkukelkka tries to free his leg and advance position but Jung is retaining full guard.

Jung has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Potkukelkka can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Jung throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Potkukelkka avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Jung might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Potkukelkka accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Jung looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Potkukelkka passes into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jung tries to bench press Potkukelkka off him but Potkukelkka keeps the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Potkukelkka catches Jung with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Horrible takedown by Potkukelkka or perhaps it was just good defense by Jung which made him look bad.

Potkukelkka has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Jung looks to land a left hand but Potkukelkka moved out of range nicely.
Potkukelkka throws a low kick, looking for Jung's leg but Jung calmly moves out of range.
Jung wants to clinch but Potkukelkka slips to the side

and Potkukelkka counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Jung controls Potkukelkka momentarily but Potkukelkka frees himself.
Potkukelkka controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Jung is pulling down on Potkukelkka's head. It's preventing any offense from Potkukelkka, at least for the moment.

Jung escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Potkukelkka gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

I would just about give that final round to James Potkukelkka.
Well Potkukelkka has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
