PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simo Hayha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergei Kuula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hayha comes into the arena with Harvester of Sorrow blaring out of the sound system. Kuula is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Rolling Stones - Sympathy For The Devil. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sergei Kuula!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayha misses with a hook.
Hayha lands with a kick to the temple. Kuula shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Hayha buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Kuula shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hayha napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Hayha is trying to work for a sweep but Kuula has mounted him!

Hayha is positioning himself well to prevent Kuula advancing to mount.
My spies in WarZone Training Facility 2 inform me that Kuula has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Kuula wants to pass to mount but Hayha is defending the position.

Hayha is looking for a sweep. Kuula is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hayha is working hard here to advance position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Simo Hayha wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Kuula looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

enabling Hayha to counter with a crisp jab.
Kuula throws a body punch but Hayha moves out of range.
A big left from Hayha misses.
Hayha connects with the punch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hayha. Kuula does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kuula goes for a double leg but Hayha avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hayha continues to drive forward.
Simo Hayha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergei Kuula.

Hayha tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kuula's elbow.
Hayha lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Kuula backwards.
Kuula changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hayha fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Hayha. No joy for Kuula on that attempt.

Hayha lands a nice hook to Kuula's body. Kuula takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Kuula moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Simo Hayha is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hayha throws a leg kick which misses Kuula's front leg but catches the back leg as Kuula tries to avoid it.
Hayha feints with a jab and clips Kuula right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Kuula is sent crashing into the canvas and Hayha leaps in for the kill! Kuula tries to get to his feet but Hayha is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Kuula is in need of a savior and steps in!
