PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Farley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wade Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: "Not Falling" by Mudvayne. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Wade Anderson was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robbie Farley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wade Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson misses the shot to the body.
Anderson throws a sloppy head kick
and Farley counters with a nice body shot.
Anderson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Anderson closes the distance and clinches.
The referee is keeping an eye on Farley - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Farley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Farley is trying to stall.
Farley is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Anderson to keep the fight standing.
Farley keeps control of Anderson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Anderson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

It looks like Robbie Farley has been cut.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Anderson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Farley's brow.

Anderson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Anderson manages to end up in side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Farley is trying to get back to half guard.
Anderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Farley keeps working.

Farley tries to bench press Anderson off him but Anderson keeps the position.
Anderson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Anderson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Farley sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
You can see the frustration on Farley's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Anderson stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Anderson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Farley quickly recovers to half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Anderson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Farley to stand up.

Anderson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Farley tries to get to full guard but Anderson has control of the leg.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Farley napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Farley is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Farley tries to bench press Anderson off him but Anderson keeps the position.
The referee asks Anderson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Anderson prefers to stall for the moment though.

Anderson decides to stand back up. Anderson steps back and let's Farley get back to his feet.

and Farley counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Anderson tries to circle away but Farley has him pinned against the cage.
Farley jumps guard but Anderson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Farley tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Anderson wants to get back to his feet but Farley is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Anderson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Farley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Anderson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Farley wants to stand but Anderson is controlling his posture from full guard.

Anderson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Farley is controlling him.

Well Anderson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
