Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cary Lawrence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Lannister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawrence shoots in for a takedown but Lannister shows good takedown defense.
Lawrence shoots in looking for a takedown. Lannister tries to sprawl out of it but Lawrence keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lannister manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Lawrence tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lannister sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lawrence somewhat.

Lawrence closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lannister to the mat! Lannister manages to get full guard.

Lannister is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Lawrence is fighting to break Lannister's control of his arms but Lannister is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Lannister wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Lawrence manages to pass to side control.
Lannister throws a strike from the bottom but Lawrence passes into side control!
Lannister really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lawrence. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

You can see the frustration on Lannister's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lannister can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lawrence stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Lawrence tries to close the distance and clinch but Lannister swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Lannister lands a stunning uppercut that sends Lawrence to the mat!

It looks like Cary Lawrence has been cut.

Lannister must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Lawrence is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Lannister defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
