Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Russo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pithe Canthropus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Canthropus's choice of entrance music: Pizzaman - Trippin' On Sunshine. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

29 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Pithe Canthropus!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Topper Green and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Russo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Russo seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Russo leaves Canthropus with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Canthropus keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Russo takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Canthropus feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Russos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
It looks like Frankie Russo has been cut.
Canthropus thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Russo if he has to take too many more of those.
No luck for Canthropus with that takedown attempt.
Frankie Russo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pithe Canthropus.

Russo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Canthropus to score with a decent uppercut.

Russo walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Canthropus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Russo has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Russo there as he acknowledges the shot.
Russo is rocked!
Russo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Oh Russo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Frankie Russo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Russo bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Canthropus comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Russo falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Russo was out before he hit the floor!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Pithe Canthropus!
