Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Mendoza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lennon Jann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mendoza has closed the distance and engaged Jann in a clinch.

Jann has clasped his hands together around Mendoza's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
You can see the frustration on Mendoza's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jann creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Mendoza sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Jann misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jann wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mendoza keeps working.
Mendoza is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jann's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Jann is looking for a kimura but Mendoza is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jann to get the leverage.
Jann throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Mendoza to regain full guard.

Jann stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mendoza swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mendoza manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jann manages to get himself to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jann can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mendoza working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jann's head.

Mendoza is in close to Jann's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Mendoza is working Jann over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Jann really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mendoza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jann is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jann is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mendoza scores with a couple of nice shots.

Mendoza has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Mendoza cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Jann tries to reverse the position but Mendoza maintains control.
Mendoza is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jann can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Jann wants to control but Mendoza is having none of it.
Jann seems to have recovered his senses.

BOOM! Mendoza connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Jann tries to hold on but Mendoza pushes him away.
Mendoza postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jann looks a forlorn figure.

Jann is desperately trying to improve his position but Mendoza has a good base and remains in mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mendoza connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
