Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ben Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kurt Schindler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Ben Jackson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Schindler on his heels. He'll look to pass Schindler's guard now, I'm sure.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jackson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Schindler has control of Jackson's left arm, preventing Jackson from doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ben Jackson.

Jackson goes for a double leg but Schindler avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Schindler continues to drive forward.

Schindler is pressed up against the cage. Jackson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Schindler down to the mat. Schindler avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Schindler gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Schindler got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jackson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schindler has managed to get both his arms back between Jackson's legs - danger averted.

Schindler lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Schindler fakes the leg kick and cracks Jackson in the body.

Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schindler paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Schindler closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Schindler is looking for a rear naked choke here but Jackson reverses the position brilliantly into Schindler's guard!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jackson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Schindler manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jackson has Schindler in his guard.
