Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Peter Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Williams!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Joseph Jones and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams misses with a hook. Smith ducked under it nicely.
A swing and a miss from Williams.

Smith closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Williams to the mat! Williams manages to get full guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Williams working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Williams looking for a sweep. Not yet Williams, not yet.

Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Williams has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Williams's legs - danger averted.

Smith is really struggling to control Williams but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Smith keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Williams's head.

Smith stands and throws Williams's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Williams manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Smith is looking for a sweep. Williams is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Williams working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Smith's thigh. Smith counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Smith is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Williams throws a strike but Smith rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Smith wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.

Williams looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Williams escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Smith gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Williams looking to hit a scissor sweep but Smith is one step ahead there.

Williams is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Williams is looking for a triangle but Smith pushes his legs off easily.

Smith trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom.
Smith controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Smith sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Williams's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith is looking for a kimura but Williams is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smith to get the leverage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Smith is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Williams doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith.

Smith seems to be working for a kimura but Williams defends the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Williams misses with an uppercut. Smith saw that one coming.

Williams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Smith.

Smith decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Williams, up you get!

Brian Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams throws out a loose jab but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it.
Williams fails to land with a series of punches.
Smith shoots for a double leg takedown but Williams sprawls well. He's pushed Smith's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Smith shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Williams is trying to defend but Smith finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Smith bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Williams sprawls well. Williams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.

Smith closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Williams's guard.

Williams is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Williams stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Williams throws an elbow that misses. Smith uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Williams's guard. Nice move by Smith!

Williams has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Smith is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Williams.

Smith tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Smith has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Smith goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Williams rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Smith's guard! Nice work there by Williams!
Brian Williams has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Smith is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Williams defends well.
Peter Smith is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Smith utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smith, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
