PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Atte Peltola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Sinatra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peltola comes to the cage accompanied by Biggest & The Best. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Atte Peltola!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 18 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Sinatra!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Paul Tew and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peltola looks to land a left hand but Sinatra moved out of range nicely.
Sinatra moves away from the strike by Peltola.
Sinatra slips a jab from Peltola.
Sinatra shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Peltola but Peltola pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sinatra shoots in but no luck this time.
Peltola looks for a takedown but Sinatra sprawls well.
Peltola's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Sinatra connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Peltola scrambles back to his feet.
Sinatra cracks Peltola with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Peltola shoots in for a double leg but Sinatra sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Peltola fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sinatra avoids it really well and circles away.

We've been informed that Sinatra has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Peltola doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Peltola has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sinatra avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Peltola will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Sinatra up against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sinatra wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Sinatra goes for a takedown in the clinch but Peltola prevents it.

Peltola looks to score with a jab to the body but Sinatra is just out of range.

Sinatra pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Peltola shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sinatra as he jumps to the side.
Sinatra throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Sinatra lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Sinatra lands a lovely overhand right.
Sinatra moves away from the strike by Peltola.

Peltola throws a lazy uppercut

and Sinatra counters with a nice double leg into side control. Peltola won't be happy with that.
Peltola gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Sinatra misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Sinatra has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sinatra manages to get back to half guard.

Sinatra has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Peltola can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Frank Sinatra comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sinatra has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
