Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Konstantin Khavin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Haka Maka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maka is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Island Music. Konstantin Khavin has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khavin misses with a combination

and Maka counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Maka tries to break free but Khavin pushes him back against the cage.
Maka tries to pull guard but Khavin holds him up against the cage and eventually Maka drops back down to his feet.
Maka is trying to force a seperation but Khavin has the dominant position.

Maka is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Khavin pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Maka wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Khavin has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Maka tries to score a body lock takedown but Khavin shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Maka ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Maka no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Maka misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Maka blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Maka has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Khavin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Khavin creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Maka tries to work over Khavin's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
