Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pete Robles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Blakscootie!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blakscootie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Robles sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Blakscootie somewhat.
Blakscootie shoots for a takedown but Robles saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Blakscootie darts in and clinches Robles up against the cage.

Blakscootie pulls guard successfully.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Robles has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Blakscootie is proving hard to escape from.
Robles won't allow Blakscootie to get back to his feet.
Robles trying to control but Blakscootie is working from the bottom.
Robles wants to stand but Blakscootie is controlling his posture from full guard.
Robles slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Blakscootie is trying to control Robles's posture but Robles avoids it.

Robles is trying to get an arm triangle but Blakscootie is defending well.

Robles stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Robles fails with a takedown attempt.
Robles shoots in for a double leg but Blakscootie sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Blakscootie leaves Robles with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pete Robles. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Blakscootie shoots in for a takedown but Robles shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Blakscootie fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Robles, pushing him back against the cage.

Robles manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Robles pulls Blakscootie in to control the position.
Robles wants to stand and escape but Blakscootie is having none of it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Blakscootie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Robles works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Robles is trying hard to land a takedown here. Blakscootie sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pete Robles dominated that round.
That's time! Robles's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Blakscootie throws a combination that misses
and Robles counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Blakscootie is lucky that one didn't land flush.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Blakscootie has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Robles after a bit of a struggle.
Robles wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Blakscootie jumps guard but Robles stands there with Blakscootie around his waist. Blakscootie gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Blakscootie looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Robles has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Blakscootie is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Blakscootie changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Robles fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Pete Robles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Blakscootie.

and Robles counters with a body kick that stops Blakscootie in his tracks momentarily.
Michael Blakscootie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Robles shoots in and bounces Blakscootie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Robles pushes down on Blakscootie's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Robles sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Blakscootie defending well though.
Robles trying to control the action but Blakscootie is working from the bottom.

Robles has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Blakscootie defend it? Robles steps over the head and cranks it - Blakscootie is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Robles!
