Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chad Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Davison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by Heartbeat. The crowd seem to be enjoying Davison's choice of entrance music: Cinderella Man - Eminem. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chad Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 21 - 0, fighting out of London, Joshua Davison!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jab from Davison.
A combination from Davison does no damage.
A swing and a miss from Davison.
Davison works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Johnson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Davison has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Johnson is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Davison cracks Johnson with an uppercut from hell and Johnson crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Davison's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!


Johnson is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Oh Johnson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Davison thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Davison avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Johnson seems to have got his legs back now.

Davison drops back looking for a leg! Johnson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Johnson manages to kick Davison off! Davison jumps back into Johnson's guard.

Davison thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davison throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Johnson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Johnson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Davison slips nicely into half guard.

Davison is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Davison is trying to control. Johnson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Davison content to control rather than advance.
Davison is keen to just control but Johnson is a slippery customer.
Davison works his way into side control.

Johnson wants to control but Davison postures up.

Davison working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Davison tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Johnson tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Davison wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy.

Johnson is looking for a sweep.
Johnson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Johnson looking for submissions off his back.
Davison is trying to control. Johnson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Davison is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. Davison eventually gives up the hold.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Davison is looking for a kimura but Johnson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Davison to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joshua Davison dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Johnson needs to keep his hands up - Davison had a free shot at his head there.
Johnson throws a series of punches but Davison avoids them all with ease.
Joshua Davison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Davison misses with a right hand
and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Johnson looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Joshua Davison seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Davison lands a left and a right that sends Johnson crashing to the canvas! Davison dives into mount looking to finish!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Davison is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Johnson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Johnson wants to control but Davison is having none of it.
Davison sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Davison wants to finish this one by submission but Johnson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Davison.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Davison cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Davison has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Johnson is looking to get to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Johnson has left one of his arms exposed and Davison doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Johnson screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Joshua Davison!

Chad Johnson was interviewed post fight and said 'I come back stronger.'.
