Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Claudio Doneri!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Spanish Rice!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rice jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Nice takedown defense from Rice. No joy for Doneri on that attempt.
Doneri fails with the takedown
and Rice counters with a nice uppercut.
Rice pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Doneri avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Rice throws a lazy right hand but Doneri sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Rice has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Rice throws a hook but Doneri avoids it easily.
The fighters circle momentarily. Rice darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Donk. Rice catches Doneri right on the button with a cross.
Rice stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Claudio Doneri. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rice pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Rice connects with a right hand. Doneri shakes it off.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Doneri moves into the clinch.
Rice's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Rice cracks Doneri with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
A big left from Rice misses.
Doneri misses with a takedown attempt
and Rice cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Doneri on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Rice misses the jab.
Rice scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
A telegraphed right hand from Rice misses the target.
Doneri misses the shot to the body.
Doneri gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rice counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Claudio Doneri has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rice drops Doneri with a beautiful combination! Doneri stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Rice is looking for the KO!
Doneri is rocked!
Doneri looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Rice throws an overhand right that lands on Doneri's shoulder, as Doneri tries to avoid the shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rice thows a left - swing and a miss!
Doneri with a lazy takedown attempt
and Rice counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Doneri. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Doneri shoots and misses
and Rice counters with a nice uppercut.
Doneri has his takedown stuffed
letting Rice counter with a right hand.
Rice missing with a left hand there. Doneri was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Doneri slips a jab from Rice.
Doneri moves to clinch but Rice breaks away
and Rice counters with a left and a right that stings Doneri.
Rice throws a hook to the side of Doneri's head but Doneri sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Nice defenses there by Doneri.
Rice connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Doneri gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rice counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rice misses with a looping right.
Rice drops Doneri with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Doneri looks back up at him and smiles so Rice waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Doneri is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Doneri doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rice counters with a massive hook, right on the button! He's out cold! Damn, that was naaaaaasty! Hopefully he'll be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Spanish Rice!
Spanish Rice is the new middleweight champion!
After the big win, Spanish Rice made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Nippon Outfitters and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
