The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barkley misses with a series of wild punches.
Charles Barkley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barkley scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lopez doesn't seem bothered though.
Barkley fails to land with a series of punches.
Barkley scores with a nice right hand.
It looks like Daren Lopez has been cut.
Lopez takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Barkley takes the fight into the clinch.
Barkley throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Lopez blocks it with crossed arms.
Lopez tries to pull guard but Barkley won't allow it.
Lopez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Barkley smiles and moves away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Barkley pushes Lopez up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lopez throws a head punch that misses.
Barkley drops Lopez onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Lopez is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Lopez is rocked!
Barkley pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Barkley throws a right hand that Lopez ducks under and follows up with a left that Lopez also avoids with ease.
Barkley cracks Lopez with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Lopez falls to his knees and Barkley doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charles Barkley!
Post fight, an emotional Charles Barkley said 'Ain't nothing like a gangsta party!!!'.
