Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mamed Khalidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mamed Khalidov has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Chuck Silva's chin.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chuck Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mamed Khalidov!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Khalidov is defended easily by Silva.
Khalidov misses with a takedown

and Silva counters with a takedown into side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Khalidov being controlled for a moment.
Silva wants to stand but Khalidov has his arm trapped.
Khalidov is letting Silva control him for a moment.
Silva advances to mount.
Khalidov is in a horrible position here. Silva smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Khalidov somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Khalidov tries for a takedown but Silva circles away easily

and Silva counters by moving into the clinch.
Chuck Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mamed Khalidov.
Silva is working for takedown but Khalidov is calmly controlling the position for now.
Khalidov goes for a takedown attempt but Silva pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Khalidov lands a jab.
Silva looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Khalidov is looking to clinch.
No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt.

Khalidov swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva.
Khalidov tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Silva defends well and Khalidov ends up having to push Silva into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Silva misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Khalidov goes for a takedown in the clinch but Silva prevents it.
Silva wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Khalidov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Silva scores with a takedown into Khalidov's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Khalidov keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva trying to stand up but can't free himself from Khalidov's guard.

Khalidov throws his legs up looking for a submission but Silva uses it to pass to side control.
Khalidov looks winded!
Silva lands an elbow.
Silva is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Khalidov's shoulder. That is not cool.

Silva lands some shots froms side control.
Silva wants to control but Khalidov is keeping him busy.
Silva throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva has hold of Khalidov's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Khalidov tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Silva cranks the arm and Khalidov screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Khalidov, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
