Thompson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Real American. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mamba connects with the punch.

Thompson drives through with a takedown into Mamba's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Mamba can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Thompson controls the pace.
Thompson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joel Thompson.
Thompson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mamba.

Thompson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Joel Thompson wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Thompson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mamba sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Thompson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Thompson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mamba is fending him off so far but Thompson persists. Nope, Mamba circles away and we're back to standing.
Mamba misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Thompson counters with a shoot takedown. Mamba fights it but they end up in guard.
Thompson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Thompson drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Thompson as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Mamba screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Thompson! Nice submission victory there!
