Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stefan Zamora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stuart Cole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stefan Zamora has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stefan Zamora!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stuart Cole!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zamora steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Cole. That one must have hurt.
Cole looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Cole throws a lazy head kick
and Zamora counters with an outside leg kick.
Stuart Cole seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zamora gets a clinch.

Zamora drags the fight down to the ground.
Zamora has Cole pulled in close to control his posture.
Zamora not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Zamora utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Zamora will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cole is squirming around, avoiding Zamora's attempts to control the action.

Zamora won't let Cole get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Cole gets tackled into the cage by Zamora. Zamora maintains the clinch.

Cole should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Cole wants to free his trapped foot but Zamora is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cole cracks Zamora with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Cole lands a big shot there that rocks Zamora but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Zamora sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cole lands a nice short elbow.

Stuart Cole showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Zamora tightens his grip and picks Cole up, before dumping him to the ground. Cole manages to land in guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Zamora is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Stefan Zamora.

Cole drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ground and pound from Cole seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
You can see the frustration on Zamora's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Cole tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Cole sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Zamora is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Zamora is looking to regain half guard here but Cole keeps moving and retains side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Cole decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Zamora shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Zamora was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cole wants to get back to his feet but Zamora drags him back down.

Zamora decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cole to his feet.

Cole feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Stefan Zamora.
Well Zamora has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
