Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnathan Howe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leonardo Armani!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howe throws a body punch but Armani moves out of range.
Howe fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A low kick from Armani misses
and Howe decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Armani's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Armani wants to get back to his feet but Howe is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Howe lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Armani avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Armani is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Howe is controlling him.
Armani is wriggling around but Howe manages to pass to half guard.
Armani manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Armani throws a leg kick but Howe sees it coming and moves out of range.
Howe shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Armani defends it nicely.
Howe gets a double leg takedown into Armani's guard.
Howe stops Armani from standing up.
Howe lands a couple of digs.
Armani wants to stand up but Howe is controlling him.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Howe is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Howe makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Armani wants to get back to his feet but Howe is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Howe thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Howe trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Howe is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Howe is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Armani is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Armani has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Armani stops Howe from standing up.
Armani won't allow Howe to sweep him here.
Armani tries to stand but Howe is controlling from the bottom.
Howe has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Armani has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Howe misses with a hook to the ribs.
With the fighters up against the cage, Howe throws an elbow but misses.
Howe breaks the clinch.
Johnathan Howe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Armani looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Howe.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnathan Howe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Armani throws a chopping leg kick but Howe manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Howe slips a jab and a cross from Armani.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Armani misses with a head kick.
Howe has taken the fight to the clinch.
Howe manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Armani shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Howe eats them both and turns towards Armani to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
It looks like Johnathan Howe has been cut.
Armani leaves Howe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Howe fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Armani avoids it really well and circles away.
Armani gets tackled into the cage by Howe. Howe maintains the clinch.
Armani is trying to break free.
Armani breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Armani. No joy for Howe on that attempt.

Howe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Armani is fending him off so far but Howe persists. Nope, Armani circles away and we're back to standing.

Howe tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Armani manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Leonardo Armani is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Armani has cracked Howe with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Armani lands another huge swinging hook and Howe tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Howe, before Armani can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Leonardo Armani!
