The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suu Kyi is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Yamada.
It looks like Aung San Suu Kyi has been cut.
Yamada lands a nice shot that snaps Suu Kyi's head back.
Yamada ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Yamada uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Suu Kyi.
Yamada avoids the body shot from Suu Kyi.
Suu Kyi cracks Yamada with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Nice straight punches there by Yamada. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Yamada.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Suu Kyi moves into the clinch.
Yamada breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Suu Kyi takes a swing at Yamada's ribcage but misses.
Yamada drops his hands momentarily and Suu Kyi takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Good leg kick by Yamada there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

and Yamada counters with an inside leg kick.
Yamada throws a head kick but Suu Kyi moves out of range.
Suu Kyi fails in his attempt to clinch.
Suu Kyi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That kick from Suu Kyi tenderised Yamada's leg. Yamada is trying to keep his angry face on.

Yamada explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Suu Kyi avoids a punch combination nicely.

Yamada slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Yamada tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Suu Kyi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Yamada throws a head kick that Suu Kyi semi-blocks.
A jab from Suu Kyi finds it's way through Yamada's defenses.
Yamada throws a right hand that Suu Kyi ducks under and follows up with a left that Suu Kyi also avoids with ease.

Suu Kyi is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Yamada is defending well for now.

That has opened up Aung San Suu Kyi's cut even more.
Yamada wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Yamada fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Suu Kyi looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Suu Kyi.
Yamada throws a shot from downtown. Suu Kyi moves away and avoids it.
Yamada looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Yamada moves out of range as Suu Kyi throws a body kick.
Suu Kyi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Yamada throws out the jab.

and Yamada counters with a nice low kick that buckles Suu Kyi's knee momentarily.

Yamada throws a series of punches but Suu Kyi moves out of range.
Yamada fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Suu Kyi.
Aung San Suu Kyi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Suu Kyi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Suu Kyi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Suu Kyi takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Yamada looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Suu Kyi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Yamada shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Suu Kyi turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Suu Kyi throws a leg kick but Yamada checks it.
Suu Kyi takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
An inside leg kick lands from Yamada.
Suu Kyi misses with a hook
and Yamada makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Suu Kyi jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Suu Kyi throws a lazy uppercut
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Suu Kyi on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A chopping leg kick lands by Yamada.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kane Yamada dominated that round.

Yamada ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Suu Kyi moves away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Suu Kyi.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Yamada here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Suu Kyi jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Yamada throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Kane Yamada is winning the standup battle so far.
Yamada throws a front kick that sends Suu Kyi stumbling back into the cage.
Yamada throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Suu Kyi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jab, jab by Yamada - just one landing.
The cut above Aung San Suu Kyi's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Yamada steps in with a hook that catches Suu Kyi right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Yamada follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Suu Kyi looks absolutely devastated.

An out of breath Kane Yamada thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
