Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Witt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Brock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Witt comes to the cage accompanied by Animal by Disturbed. Brock has chosen Guns and Roses - Reckless Life as his entrance music. Eddie Brock will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Witt takes one on the button.
Witt jabs Brock to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Witt cracks Brock with a good jab.
Brock drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

A low kick from Brock is predictable there
and Witt counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Brock wants to improve his position but instead Witt has moved into half guard.
Witt tries to pass the half guard into mount. Brock knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Witt looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brock with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Brock felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Witt drops back, looking for a kneebar! Brock looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Brock looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Brock!
The referee asks Brock politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Brock prefers to stall for the moment though.

Witt tries to bench press Brock off him but Brock keeps the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brock is trying to ground and pound but Witt uses the momentary lack of control by Brock to regain half guard.
Brock is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Witt ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brock moves away.
Brock uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Witt.
Witt misses with a looping left.
Witt lands with a shot to the body.
Witt has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Brock.
Brock tried to score with a low kick but Witt checks it.
Brock throws a leg kick but Witt sees it coming and moves out of range.

Witt misses with a takedown attempt - Brock sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Brock throws a solid leg kick but Witt takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Brock.
Brock pivots, looking for a leg kick but Witt is out of range and Brock settles back down.
The fighters circle momentarily. Witt darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Brock lands a jab to the nose.
Witt swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Witt here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Witt misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Brock counters with a leg kick.
Brock misses with a left hand
and Witt counters with a shoot takedown. Brock fights it but they end up in guard.
Witt postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Witt throws an elbow that misses. Brock uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Witt's guard. Nice move by Brock!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Horrible takedown by Witt or perhaps it was just good defense by Brock which made him look bad.

Witt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brock circles away.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Witt lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Brock has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Brock and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Eddie Brock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Aaron Witt decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
