Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eugeniy Akulenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jun Gyeong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akulenko comes to the cage accompanied by Cowboys From Hell. Gyeong comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Intro kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Eugeniy Akulenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jun Gyeong!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Fedor Mirinova and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akulenko throws a half hearted mid kick.
Gyeong tries to clinch but Akulenko moves out of range.
A left and a right from Akulenko both land. Nice combination.
Gyeong shoots in but Akulenko avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Akulenko lands a high kick!
Akulenko throws a head kick that misses.
Akulenko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gyeong tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Akulenko paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Akulenko cracks Gyeong with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Akulenko throws a head kick that Gyeong semi-blocks.
Eugeniy Akulenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

No joy there for Akulenko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Gyeong tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Akulenko paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Akulenko throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Gyeong.
Gyeong slips a jab and a cross from Akulenko.
Gyeong tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Akulenko manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Akulenko looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gyeong tries to clinch there but Akulenko circles away.

Akulenko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Gyeong has managed to clinch.

Gyeong decides to pull guard.
Akulenko won't allow Gyeong to get back to his feet.

Gyeong is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Gyeong has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Akulenko has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Akulenko throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Akulenko connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Gyeong shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gyeong stands up from half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Akulenko connects with a high kick.
Gyeong throws a solid leg kick but Akulenko takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Gyeong.

Gyeong throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Akulenko was covering up waiting for the punch and Gyeong finishes the takedown easily into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eugeniy Akulenko dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Gyeong is trying hard to land a takedown here. Akulenko sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Gyeong dives in and scores a takedown into Akulenko's guard.

Gyeong tries to close the distance and clinch up but Akulenko swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Gyeong closes the distance and clinches.

Akulenko manages to break the clinch.
Akulenko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Gyeong closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Akulenko is looking to escape.
Gyeong seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Gyeong is looking for a kimura but Akulenko is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gyeong to get the leverage.
Akulenko is trying to stand up here but Gyeong is controlling him well.
