PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Flores (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Martti Molski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flores comes to the cage accompanied by The XX - Intro. On his way into the cage it seems that Rafael Flores has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rafael Flores seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rafael Flores!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Martti Molski!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Molski drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Flores struggling a bit here.
Molski is putting a hurting on Flores here, landing some big shots from side control.
Molski misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Molski postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Flores prevents Molski from improving position.
Flores tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Molski wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Flores avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Molski.
You can see the frustration on Flores's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Molski works to advance to full mount. Flores defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Flores bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Molski is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Molski is trying to control the position but Flores postures up.
Molski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Flores wants to control from the top but Molski keeps moving.
Flores is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

We're going to have a standup here because Rafael Flores wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Molski uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Flores.
Molski chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Flores fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Molski has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Molski cracks Flores with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Molski takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Flores is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Flores will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Molski looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Flores moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Flores holds on and takes a little breather.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Martti Molski dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Molski avoids the head kick by Flores.
Molski steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Flores. That one must have hurt.
Flores moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Flores pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Flores swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Flores lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Molski takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Molski moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Flores lands a jab.
Rafael Flores seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Flores wants to clinch but Molski slips to the side

and Molski counters with a nice double leg into side control. Flores won't be happy with that.

Molski sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Flores is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Molski cracks Flores with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Flores sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Flores lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Molski is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Flores lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Flores gets through Molski's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A left hand lands to the body for Flores.
Molski is breathing heavily.
Flores tries to throw a body punch but Molski avoids it by throwing Flores back against the cage.
Flores blocks an uppercut.
A right handed body shot lands from Flores.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rafael Flores will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Flores is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rafael Flores.
Molski wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Flores does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Molski shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Molski was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Molski is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Flores is just riding it out for now. Molski eventually gives up the hold.

Molski lands a massive punch from the back that knocks Flores out cold! Molski jumps to his feet and celebrates wildly with his corner.
