PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harry Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Judge Holden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Potter comes into the arena with All you need is love blaring out of the sound system. Holden comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Act a Fool kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Harry Potter has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Harry Potter seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harry Potter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Judge Holden!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Potter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Holden misses with a straight right.
Jab from Holden.
Holden misses with a low kick.
Holden misses with a looping left.
Holden swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Potter bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Holden's head.
Holden feints a jab promting Potter to slip. Holden then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Potter slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Holden has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Potter finds it's way round the side to connect with Holden's head.
Holden has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A shot to the body from Potter misses

and Holden counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Potter!
Holden wants to control but Potter is keeping him busy.
A lull in the action here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Potter looks to move to half guard but instead Holden has passed into mount! Damn!

Holden takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Potter has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Holden is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Potter knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Potter for a finish.

Holden biding his time, controlling Potter.

Holden is looking for the choke from the back position but Potter is controlling his hands well.

Holden looking to break Potter's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Potter remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Holden will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Holden has the hooks in. Potter is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Holden is persistently looking for the submission but Potter is defending it well.
Potter wants to get back to his feet.

Potter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Potter can't escape the position.
A lull in the action here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Holden goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Potter escapes and is now in half guard on top.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Judge Holden dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Holden dodges the punch combination from Potter.
Holden pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Holden moves out of range of the strikes.
Potter misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Holden.
Potter misses with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Potter keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Holden swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Potter.
Potter swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Holden lands a really nice looking cross but Potter seems unphased.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Potter tests Holden's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Potter feints a jab promting Holden to slip. Potter then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Holden slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Holden shoots in for a takedown but Potter shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Potter misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Holden.
Potter connects with a jab.
Holden throws a right and a left that both miss.
Holden lands a head shot.
Potter swings widly with a right hand

and Holden counters with a nice double leg into side control. Potter won't be happy with that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Holden moves into full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Potter wants to control but Holden is having none of it.
Potter can't escape the position.

Holden working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Potter turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Holden off and cradles Potter's limp body as Holden celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Judge Holden!
An out of breath Judge Holden thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
