Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Oppelaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joni Betoni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Betoni has chosen Amaranthe - Amarathine as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dennis Oppelaar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Joni Betoni!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oppelaar tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Betoni swivels and escapes.
Oppelaar misses with a wild combination.
Oppelaar gets cracked there but stands up to it.


It looks like Dennis Oppelaar has been cut.
Oppelaar tries for a takedown but Betoni sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Oppelaar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Betoni is on top in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Betoni is pushing down on Oppelaar's leg trying to pass to half guard. Oppelaar is fighting to maintain full guard but Betoni has managed to sneak the leg through.
Betoni is nestled in close to Oppelaar, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Betoni seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Oppelaar has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Betoni is working away from the top position though.
Betoni slows the pace down in half guard.

Betoni is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Oppelaar is just riding it out for now. Betoni eventually gives up the hold.

Oppelaar is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Betoni pulls his head out easily.

Betoni is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Oppelaar gets full guard.

Betoni got a little sloppy there for a moment and Oppelaar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Betoni has managed to get both his arms back between Oppelaar's legs - danger averted.

Betoni wants to get up but he can't break Oppelaar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Betoni advances to half guard.
Oppelaar is trying to maintain the position but Betoni is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Betoni moves nicely into side control.
Betoni lands an elbow.
Oppelaar is looking for a sweep.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The strikes coming from Betoni are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

You can see the frustration on Oppelaar's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Oppelaar is looking to regain half guard here but Betoni keeps moving and retains side control.

Betoni wants to control but Oppelaar is keeping him busy.

Oppelaar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Betoni wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Betoni is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Oppelaar has escaped the position, nice work there.

Betoni content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Oppelaar throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Betoni throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Oppelaar.
Oppelaar fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Betoni lands a head kick that stumbles Oppelaar and the fighters go to the mat.


Oppelaar is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oppelaar is wriggling around but Betoni manages to pass to half guard.
Oh Oppelaar is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Joni Betoni has got the better of the ground game so far.
Betoni is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Betoni loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Oppelaar scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Betoni land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Betoni stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joni Betoni!
