Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bertram Holder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay Dy!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holder tries to clinch but Dy moves out of range.
Holder really is a fat lump.

Dy clinches up with Holder and pushes him back against the cage.
Holder has Dy pressed against the cage, preventing Dy from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Dy wants to get back to striking at distance but Holder won't allow it.
Holder is pressed up against the cage. Dy has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Holder down to the mat. Holder avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Dy throws a half hearted mid kick.
Dy pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Dy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Holder sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Holder connecting with a few gentle strikes.
Dy controlling the pace.
Holder slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Holder is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dy is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Holder is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Holder is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dy is just riding it out for now. Holder eventually gives up the hold.
Dy is refusing to be controlled, as Holder sits in half guard.
Dy is concentrating on defense, preventing Holder from advancing position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Holder wants to control but Dy is keeping him busy.
Holder controlling the action here.

Dy with the active half guard here but Holder passes nicely into side control.
Dy is trying to work for a sweep but Holder has mounted him!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Holder can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Dy is looking to escape.
Dy keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dy wants to control but Holder is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dy looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Dy wants to escape the position.
Holder controlling from the back.
Dy holding both Holder 's hands and preventing any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dy can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bertram Holder will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Bertram Holder's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Dy looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Holder tries to sprawl but Dy drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Holder is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Holder is staying active underneath Dy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Holder regains full guard. Nicely done.

Holder is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Holder is trying to keep Dy in close.

Holder had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dy defends it easily.

Holder trying to control the position.
Dy engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Holder looking for a triangle here. Dy is fighting it but it looks tight! Holder pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Dy is tapping out - this one is all over!
