Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Harry Punani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Xiomar Halo!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punani throws a shot from downtown. Halo moves away and avoids it.
Halo has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Punani is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Punani wants to land a leg kick but Halo is out of range.
Punani takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Punani tries to work over Halo's front leg with a kick but Halo checks it.
Halo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Punani throws a low kick but Halo avoids it.
Punani throws a head kick that half lands.
Halo throws a nice inside leg kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Punani.

and Punani counters with a nice double leg into side control. Halo won't be happy with that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
You can see the frustration on Halo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

I wouldn't like to be where Halo is right now.
Check out the look on Punani's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Punani scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Halo to see if he's OK.
Halo is trying to get back to half guard.
Punani cracks Halo with a big right hand but Halo just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Punani is looking to take a break and control but Halo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Halo is trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Halo is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Halo tries to get back to half guard but can't.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Halo can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Halo is pushing Punani's head away, looking to escape. Punani manages to hold on to the position though.

Punani in side control, throwing shots but Halo defends.

We've been hearing that Punani has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Punani grinds an elbow into Halo's temple.
Halo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Punani. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Punani creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Halo sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Halo tries to buck Punani off but Punani is having none of it.

Punani cracks Halo with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Halo takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The referee warns Halo that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Punani trying to control but Halo is having none of it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Punani fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Halo is working to get back to half guard.
Punani has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Halo is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Halo is still in real trouble! Can Punani finish him?
Halo is in all sorts of trouble here.
Halo seems to have recovered his senses.
Punani lands a heavy elbow.
Halo is squirming around, avoiding Punani's attempts to control the action.

Punani avoids the attempt from Halo to control.
Punani lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Punani postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Halo looks a forlorn figure.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Punani! Halo is hurt baaadly! Punani is firing away with more strikes - Halo is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Harry Punani!
A relieved looking Harry Punani thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
