PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Beltran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Carlos Beltran has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Beltran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beltran dives in and grabs Taylor's left leg, looking for a takedown. Taylor pushes down on Beltran's head and hops out.
Beltran shoots in but no luck this time.
Beltran goes for a double leg but Taylor avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Taylor continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Beltran. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Taylor jumps guard and drags Beltran to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Beltran might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Beltran tries to free his leg and advance position but Taylor is retaining full guard.

Beltran drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Taylor manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Beltran has Taylor in his guard.
Taylor is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Taylor is looking to take a break and control but Beltran is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Beltran tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Taylor wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Taylor stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Beltran shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Taylor pinned against the cage. Taylor gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Beltran has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Taylor escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Taylor!

Beltran shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Taylor as he avoids it easily.

so Taylor counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. David Taylor wasn't active enough on the ground.

Beltran shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Taylor moves into the clinch.

Taylor seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Beltran is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
