The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pokrzywa feints and as Carrillo raises his hands in defense, Pokrzywa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Pokrzywa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pokrzywa advances to half guard.

Carrillo is defending against the submission attempts here by Pokrzywa.
Carrillo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Pokrzywa.

Carrillo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pokrzywa pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carrillo is trying to maintain the position but Pokrzywa is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Pokrzywa landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Pokrzywa is trying to control the action in half guard but Carrillo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pokrzywa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carrillo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pokrzywa connects with a nice short shot to Carrillo's temple.

Pokrzywa lands a big elbow - Carrillo is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Pokrzywa!
