Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sanford Sharpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Kevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danny Kevens will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Sanford Sharpe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Kevens!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kevens throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sharpe was covering up waiting for the punch and Kevens finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kevens is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kevens controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kevens stands and throws Sharpe's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Sharpe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kevens swings around for an armbar but Sharpe sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kevens's guard.

Kevens is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Kevens can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sharpe controls the pace.
Kevens wants to stand and escape but Sharpe is having none of it.
Sharpe won't allow Kevens to sweep him here.

Kevens pulls Sharpe in close to his closed guard and prevents Sharpe from doing any damage or advancing position.
Sharpe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sharpe misses with a straight left.

Kevens is looking to clinch but Sharpe is avoiding it.
Kevens is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kevens clinches up with Sharpe and pushes him back against the cage.
Kevens wants to break the clinch but can't.

Kevens decides to pull guard.
Kevens is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Sharpe trying to control but Kevens is working from the bottom.

Kevens keeping moving, preventing Sharpe from controlling successfully.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Sharpe would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Sanford Sharpe has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Sharpe tries for a takedown but Kevens sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kevens takes a swing at Sharpe's ribcage but misses.

and Sharpe counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sharpe.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Sharpe stops Kevens from standing up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kevens is looking to sweep but instead, Sharpe has passed into half guard.

Sharpe gets caught flat footed, as Kevens shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Sharpe wants to sweep but no luck.
Sharpe pulls Kevens in close to prevent any damage.

Kevens gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Danny Kevens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kevens stands up and beckons Sharpe to his feet.
Kevens doesn't manage to clinch there - Sharpe circles away.
Sharpe swats away the attempt to clinch by Kevens.

Kevens drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here as Kevens stalls from top position.

Kevens stands up.

Kevens is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sharpe's half guard.
Kevens controlling the action here.

Kevens's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Kevens postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Sharpe to stand up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sharpe takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Sharpe fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kevens avoids it really well and circles away.

Kevens gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Danny Kevens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Sharpe swats away the attempt to clinch by Kevens.

Kevens drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kevens pushing down on Sharpe's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Kevens wants to take a breather but Sharpe is having none of it.

Kevens seems to be working for a kimura but Sharpe defends the submission attempt.
Kevens is just content to waste time from the top position. Sharpe takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Kevens wants to pass the guard but Sharpe is keeping the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kevens throws a strike but Sharpe rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kevens escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sharpe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kevens has Sharpe pulled in close to control his posture.

Kevens is trying to keep Sharpe in close.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Danny Kevens wasn't active enough on the ground.
Kevens misses with a body kick.
Sharpe really is a fat lump.
Kevens tries to clinch but Sharpe is having none of it.
Sharpe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kevens sprawls well. Kevens wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sharpe gets slowly back to his feet.

Kevens gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Sharpe holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Kevens has Sharpe pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kevens pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Sharpe tumbling to the mat - Kevens dives into Sharpe's guard.
Kevens takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kevens has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sharpe is proving hard to escape from.
Sanford Sharpe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Danny Kevens is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Kevens slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Danny Kevens comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kevens has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
