Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rex Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Bannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bannon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Riley shoots in for a takedown but Bannon shows good takedown defense.
Bannon throws a head kick but Riley moves out of range.
Bannon throws a head kick but Riley moves out of range.

Riley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bannon looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Riley working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Riley stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Bannon throws a chopping leg kick but Riley manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Riley moves out of range as Bannon throws a body kick.
Bannon throws a solid leg kick but Riley takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bannon.

Riley throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bannon was covering up waiting for the punch and Riley finishes the takedown easily into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Riley drops back looking for a leg! Bannon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bannon manages to kick Riley off! Riley jumps back into Bannon's guard.
Riley's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Riley forces his way into half guard.
Bannon is trying to maintain the position but Riley is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Riley has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Bannon defend it? Riley steps over the head and cranks it - Bannon is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Riley!
