Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Wensink (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samak Tiyapairat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wensink comes to the cage accompanied by Momma Said Knock You Out. Tiyapairat comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ram Muay kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Samak Tiyapairat was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Wensink!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samak Tiyapairat!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wensink closes the distance and clinches.
Wensink throws a punch but it's blocked by Tiyapairat.
Tiyapairat lands an elbow that stopped Wensink in his tracks for a moment.
Wensink throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Tiyapairat lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Tiyapairat is trying to stall.
Tiyapairat unloads a knee to the mid-section. Wensink lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Wensink has a couple of punches blocked by Tiyapairat.
Wensink definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Wensink pushes off an throws an elbow but Tiyapairat leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

and Wensink counters with a good, hard body kick but Tiyapairat shrugs it off.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wensink throws an overhand right that lands on Tiyapairat's shoulder, as Tiyapairat tries to avoid the shot.
Tiyapairat pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Tiyapairat moves out of range of the strikes.
Tiyapairat lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Wensink lunges at Tiyapairat with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tiyapairat's hand.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wensink lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Tiyapairat stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Tiyapairat moves into range and clinches up with Wensink.
Wensink takes a knee to the side of the body.
Wensink lands an elbow just above Tiyapairat 's eye.
Tiyapairat tries to stall but Wensink uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Samak Tiyapairat will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Tiyapairat throws the left hand but Wensink avoids the punch easily.
Tiyapairat's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Wensink connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Tiyapairat scrambles back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Tiyapairat counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tiyapairat lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


Wensink is rocked!
Tiyapairat circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Wensink to the canvas! Wensink doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Tiyapairat keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Samak Tiyapairat!
Samak Tiyapairat bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
