Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sani Hassan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Keijiro Maeda!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hassan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hassan slows the pace down in half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maeda wants to get back to full guard.
Hassan has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Hassan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Maeda knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Hassan scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Hassan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Hassan winds up and cracks Maeda with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hassan lands a nice short elbow.

Hassan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Maeda for as long as he can get away with.
Maeda wants to get back to full guard.

Maeda has hold of Hassan's hands but Hassan slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Hassan content to control rather than advance.
Hassan working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Maeda is still in real trouble! Can Hassan finish him?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hassan wants to pass to mount but Maeda is defending the position.
Maeda seems to have recovered his senses.
Hassan slows the pace down in half guard.
Hassan is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Hassan is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Maeda is hurt! He's hurt bad - Hassan fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Maeda from any more punishment! Congratulations to Hassan! Great finish!
