Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mike Bison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Punawai McNaughty!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McNaughty showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bison.
McNaughty slips a jab and a cross from Bison.
Bison misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bison throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McNaughty.
Bison swinging wildly here.
Bison tries to clinch there but McNaughty circles away.
Bison is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
McNaughty uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bison.
Bison stalks McNaughty and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into McNaughty's face. McNaughty staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Punawai McNaughty has been cut.
Bison misses with a jab, cross combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McNaughty shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bison's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
McNaughty is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McNaughty looking to pass the guard.
McNaughty slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
It looks like McNaughty might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Punawai McNaughty.
Bison misses with a wild combination.
Bison lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bison.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - McNaughty has eaten all the pies!
Bison is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bison throws a series of punches but McNaughty avoids them all with ease.
Bison looks to land a combination but McNaughty avoids it well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bison misses with a body shot.
McNaughty fails to land the takedown.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bison throws a body punch but McNaughty moves out of range.
McNaughty looks for a takedown but Bison sprawls well.
Mike Bison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McNaughty scores with a takedown into Bison's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McNaughty is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
McNaughty engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
McNaughty trying to control the position from guard on top but Bison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McNaughty thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McNaughty stops Bison from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mike Bison dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Punawai McNaughty's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Bison throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bison swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Bison has McNaughty up against the cage in a clinch.

Bison breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McNaughty defending well as Bison loads up on a big left hand.
McNaughty shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bison as he avoids it easily.
Bison jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Bison wobbles McNaughty with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Bison dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts McNaughty to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mike Bison!
