Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Crack Hack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Castellano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Castellano's choice of entrance music: Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Crack Hack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rich Castellano!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hack tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Castellano decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hack's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Castellano not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hack is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Castellano controls from within his opponent's guard.
Castellano trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Castellano controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rich Castellano has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Castellano tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hack swivels and escapes.
Hack tries to clinch

so Castellano counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Castellano postures up in Hack's guard and throws a big left but Hack blocks it.
Castellano content to stall in guard here.
Hack is looking to stand up but Castellano isn't so interested in that idea.
Hack keeping moving, preventing Castellano from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Castellano stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hack swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hack is looking to stand up but Castellano isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Castellano working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hack's head.
Castellano is looking to work some ground and pound but Hack has wrist control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hack preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Castellano wants to pass the guard but Hack is keeping the position.
Castellano keeps trying to improve his position.

Hack keeping moving, preventing Castellano from controlling successfully.
Castellano tries to free his leg and advance position but Hack is retaining full guard.
Castellano throws an elbow that misses. Hack uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Castellano's guard. Nice move by Hack!
Castellano wants to sweep but no luck.
Hack wants to control from the top but Castellano keeps moving.
Hack is stalling in the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hack throwing strikes but missing.
Hack is working Castellano over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hack trying to control but Castellano is working from the bottom.
Castellano working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hack.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Castellano escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hack gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Castellano has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Hack should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Castellano has tightened it up now! Hack should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Rich Castellano!
An out of breath Rich Castellano thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
