Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 14 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ezra Ray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hedrig Pokousha!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pokousha throws a looping overhand right but Ray ducks down to avoid it.
A slapping body kick lands there for Ray.
Pokousha wants to clinch up but Ray keeps it at a distance.
Pokousha shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ray pinned against the cage. Ray gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ray ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Pokousha blocks a head kick by Ray.
Ray has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Pokousha tries to clinch there but Ray circles away.
Pokousha tries to clinch but Ray is having none of it.
Pokousha tries to clinch up but Ray circles away and keeps his distance.
Pokousha darts in trying to clinch
and Ray counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ray moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Pokousha scores with a hook to the body. Ray takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ray's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pokousha under the eye.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pokousha avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ray throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Ray throws out a powerful jab.
Pokousha fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ezra Ray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ray tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ray jabs Pokousha right on the nose. Pokousha blinks but takes it well.
Pokousha takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.


Pokousha is rocked!
A looping hook to the body misses from Ray. Pokousha does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ray throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ray throws a lazy right hand but Pokousha sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pokousha shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Ray fakes the leg kick and cracks Pokousha in the body.
Ray misses with the combination.
Pokousha tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ray manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ray lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Ray throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pokousha gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ray.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pokousha is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Pokousha gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Pokousha misses with a punch on the inside.
Ray lands an uppercut.
Ray scores with a nice hook to the head.
Ray lands with a left to the head.
Pokousha takes a knee right on the jaw!
Pokousha is still on wobbly legs! Can Ray finish him?

Ray keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Pokousha's efforts to push away.
Pokousha seems to have recovered his senses.

Pokousha tries to score a body lock takedown but Ray shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Pokousha tries to pull guard but Ray won't allow it.
Ezra Ray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hedrig Pokousha.
Pokousha is trying to pull guard but Ray has him pressed against the cage.

Pokousha looking to stall.
A short uppercut from Ray.
Ray misses with a hook from the clinch.
Pokousha blocking some punches.
Pokousha is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ray is defending well.
Ray lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Pokousha backwards.

Ray scores with a nice hook to the head.
A nice left hand lands by Ray.
Pokousha has Ray pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ray manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Ray tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Pokousha scores with a nice hook to the head.
Ray is pressed up against the cage. Pokousha has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ray down to the mat. Ray avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Pokousha tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ray paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ray tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pokousha wants to stall.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ray lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Ray gets through Pokousha's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Pokousha blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Ray tries to land a knee to the head but Pokousha blocks with his arms.
Pokousha is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ray is defending well.
A short right from Ray.
Ray throws a punch but it's blocked by Pokousha.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ray lands an uppercut.
Ray tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Pokousha fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Ray lands on the inside with an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ezra Ray dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Pokousha gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Ray points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Pokousha wakes up just in time to hear Ray thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ezra Ray!
During a confident post fight interview, Ezra Ray thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
