The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burdyalov throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mela.
Burdyalov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mela moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mela shoots in for a double leg but Burdyalov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Burdyalov has been working on his boxing with his coaches at St Petersburg MMA Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Mela tries for a takedown but Burdyalov circles away easily
and Burdyalov counters with a one-two to the body.
Mela has his takedown stuffed
and Burdyalov counters with a stiff right hand.
Nikolay Burdyalov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Antero Mela.
Burdyalov slaps away a takedown attempt from Mela, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mela is defended easily by Burdyalov.

Burdyalov lands a left and a right that send Mela crashing to the mat, dazed. Burdyalov thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Antero Mela has been cut.

Burdyalov throws a right and a left that both miss.
Mela fails with the takedown.
Mela shoots in but no luck this time.
Burdyalov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mela.
Burdyalov swinging wildly here.
Mela gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Burdyalov throws an overhand right that drops Mela like a sack of potatoes! Burdyalov dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
