PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Archie Archer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tang Lung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lung has chosen Gasoline - Paatos as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Archer has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Notorious Fighters in the buildup to the fight.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Lung has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Lung drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lung jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Archer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Archer lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lung lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Archer has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Archer and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Lung is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Archer is trying to escape and Lung transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Archer is forced to tap! Nice work there by Lung! Very nice indeed!
