The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sergeev manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Best on his heels. He'll look to pass Best's guard now, I'm sure.
Sergeev with a flurry of punches that miss.
Best will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Best looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Sergeev prevents Best from getting back to his feet.

Best is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sergeev defends well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sergeev drops back looking for a leg! Best is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Best manages to kick Sergeev off! Sergeev jumps back into Best's guard.

Best is looking for a triangle but Sergeev pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Best has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sergeev can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Sergeev's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Best really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sergeev distracts Best with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Sergeev postures up and lands a big shot to Best's brow.

Sergeev is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Sergeev winds up and cracks Best with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Sergeev wants to work for an arm triangle but Best is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Best wants to improve his position but Sergeev is controlling well.
Best is breathing heavily.

Sergeev is looking for a kimura but Best is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sergeev to get the leverage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Best knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sergeev on the ground.
