Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mack Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Bran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mack Stevenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Bran!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Skip Squint and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body kick from Stevenson.
Bran shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Stevenson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Stevenson moves to clinch but Bran breaks away
and Bran makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Bran fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Stevenson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Bran clinches up with Stevenson and pushes him back against the cage.
Nice body punch from Bran - that landed with a thud.
Bran tries to land knees in the clinch but Stevenson avoids the damage to the body.
Stevenson prevents a body shot from Bran.
Bran is trying to pull guard but Stevenson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Mack Stevenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Bran.

Stevenson blocks an elbow strike from Bran.
Bran is trying to push Stevenson away but Stevenson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Stevenson misses with some punches.
Stevenson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Stevenson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bran just stands there and leans against the cage.
Bran tries to circle away but Stevenson has him pinned against the cage.

Bran escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bran shoots in for a takedown but Stevenson shows good takedown defense.

Bran has closed the distance and engaged Stevenson in a clinch.
Bran is trying to break the clinch but Stevenson is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bran is looking to break free of the clinch but Stevenson has double underhooks.

Bran is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Stevenson can't fight it off and eventually Bran manages to take the fight to the floor. Stevenson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Bran controls from within his opponent's guard.

Stevenson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Bran is now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Stevenson kicks off Bran and gets to his feet.
Stevenson stuffs the takedown attempt from Bran. Bran gets slowly back to his feet.

Bran has Stevenson up against the cage in a clinch.

Bran has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Stevenson uses from the top position.
Bran wants to stand and escape but Stevenson is having none of it.
Stevenson throws a big elbow that misses.
Stevenson is fighting to break Bran's control of his arms but Bran is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Stevenson trying to control but Bran is working from the bottom.
Stevenson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Bran utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bran throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Bran throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Stevenson throws a big elbow that misses.
Bran is trying to keep Stevenson in close.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bran misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Bran dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Stevenson pushes Bran up against the cage in a clinch.
Stevenson wants to get back to striking at distance but Bran won't allow it.

Bran pulls guard successfully.
Stevenson trying to control the position from guard on top but Bran is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bran wants to sweep but no luck.

Bran preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Bran manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stevenson manages to get himself to full guard.

Stevenson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bran is aware though and is defending well.

Stevenson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bran is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Bran scores with a couple of short elbows.
Stevenson is trying to get back to his feet.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Stevenson wants to control but Bran postures up.
Bran is looking to take a break and control but Stevenson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bran tries to advance to mount but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stevenson wants to clinch.

Bran scores with a nice right hand.

Bran drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Stevenson wants to sweep but no luck.
Bran not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. George Bran wasn't active enough on the ground.
Bran misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Stevenson.

Stevenson tries to close the distance and clinch but Bran swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bran throws a head kick but Stevenson moves out of range.
Bran pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bran shoots in and drives through. Stevenson sprawls well.
Bran throws a combination that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Stevenson is looking to clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stevenson throws a push kick but Bran slaps the foot to one side.

Bran shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Bran is breathing heavily.
Stevenson is staying active underneath Bran, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Bran showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Stevenson wants to clinch up but Bran keeps it at a distance.

and Bran counters with a stiff right hand.

Stevenson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Stevenson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bran gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bran is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stevenson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Stevenson tries to clinch up.

Bran has managed to clinch.
A short left from Bran.
Bran wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Stevenson jumps into guard, dragging Bran to the mat.
Bran wants to pass the guard but Stevenson is keeping the position.
Bran is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Bran is working Stevenson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Bran got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stevenson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bran has managed to get both his arms back between Stevenson's legs - danger averted.

Bran moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Stevenson.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

George Bran is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bran is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Stevenson is trying to escape and Bran transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Stevenson is forced to tap! Nice work there by Bran! Very nice indeed!
