The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Awsome wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Guevera closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Awsome quickly recovers to half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Guevera thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Awsome's head.
Guevera throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Guevera seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Guevera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Awsome swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Awsome is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Guevera lands a big shot there that rocks Awsome but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Guevera throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Awsome has his hands clasped together but Guevera breaks the hold and Awsome is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Guevera!
