Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anderson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva moves to clinch but Velasquez breaks away
and Velasquez makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Silva wants to clinch

and Velasquez counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that.
Silva trying to keep a closed guard but Velasquez is proving a slippery customer.
Velasquez is stalling in the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silva looks to clinch
and Velasquez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Silva closes the distance but Velasquez moves to the side
and Velasquez counters with a nice leg kick.

Silva closes the distance looking to clinch

and Velasquez counters with a shoot takedown. Silva fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva controls Velasquez momentarily but Velasquez frees himself.
Velasquez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Velasquez is standing up over Silva. Silva looks to escape but Velasquez dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A lull in the action here.
Silva wants to control but Velasquez postures up.
Velasquez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Velasquez is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Silva will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Silva is trying to buck Velasquez off.

Velasquez tries for a kimura but Silva is defending well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Velasquez lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Silva down.

Anderson Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Silva manages to pull guard.

Velasquez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Velasquez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Silva wants to control but Velasquez passes easily into half guard.

Velasquez seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Silva is trying to maintain the position but Velasquez is very close to passing his half guard.

Well, if Velasquez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Velasquez counters with a low kick, right behind Silva 's knee.
Silva closes the distance looking to clinch
and Velasquez counters with an inside leg kick.
Silva tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Velasquez counters by moving into the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Silva ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Silva no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Silva is trying to keep Velasquez in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Silva has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Velasquez uses from the top position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

and Velasquez makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Velasquez holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

David Velasquez showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Velasquez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
