Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex Wright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zurab Sergeev!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sergeev tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wright defends well and Sergeev ends up having to push Wright into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Wright lands a takedown into guard.
Wright throws a big elbow that misses.
Wright is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Sergeev is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sergeev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wright doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Sergeev is tightening it up a little... Wright has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Wright reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Wright taps out! Nice BJJ there by Sergeev!
