Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Anthony McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammer Bammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sammer Bammer!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKenzie takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Sammer Bammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bammer misses with a body shot.
McKenzie jabs at Bammer's body.
McKenzie ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
McKenzie defending well as Bammer loads up on a big left hand.
McKenzie walks into a jab.
McKenzie scores with a jab to the jaw.
Bammer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McKenzie sprawls well. McKenzie wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bammer gets slowly back to his feet.

Bammer closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McKenzie actively working from the bottom here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bammer trying to pass the guard but McKenzie defending well.
McKenzie throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Bammer tries to pass to full mount but McKenzie defends it.
Bammer prevents McKenzie from improving his position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

McKenzie looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Bammer wants to control but McKenzie is keeping him busy.
Ground and pound from Bammer.

Bammer wants to work for an arm triangle but McKenzie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Bammer is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, McKenzie has managed to free his arm - good work.
McKenzie wants to get back to his feet.
McKenzie wants to get back to full guard.
McKenzie is staying active underneath Bammer, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Bammer prevents McKenzie from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bammer takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McKenzie is not content to let Bammer control the position.

Bammer seems to be looking for submissions.

Bammer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

McKenzie actively working from the bottom here.
Bammer has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at The Barracks - LOD. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Bammer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McKenzie is just riding it out for now. Bammer eventually gives up the hold.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McKenzie keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

McKenzie is in trouble now - Bammer has advanced to mount!
McKenzie is in all sorts of trouble here.
Bammer lands with some vicious ground and pound - can McKenzie hang on?
McKenzie is trying desperately to improve position.

Bammer looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Bammer lands a couple of good shots and McKenzie has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Bammer is working for a rear naked choke. McKenzie is not defending it well and Bammer has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! McKenzie refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of McKenzie's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Sammer Bammer!
During a confident post fight interview, Sammer Bammer thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
In defeat, Anthony McKenzie stepped up to the mic, saying 'thank's all my fan for support me and i came back for next fight...'.
